1st Born Second was released on July 17, 2001 under Interscope records. The album ranked no.31 on the U.S. Billboard chart. It is a 17-track album written entirely by Bilal. The first single "Fast Lane" featuring Jadakiss ranked no.41 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Tracks. The second single "Love It" hit no.61 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Tracks. The third single "Soul Sista" ranked no.71 on the Billboard Hot 100.
